Good company, even better food, and 29+ beer on tap.

Food, Drink & Good Company

The Newfoundland Embassy is a traditional pub and eatery in downtown St. John's.

The Hickey brothers cut their teeth in pubs and eateries in downtown St. John’s. They worked their way up to managing some of the city's favourite bars and pubs.

The philosophy that the brothers brought to the Newfoundland Embassy was simple – create a friendly, safe, warm and welcoming atmosphere where patrons could choose from the province’s widest selection of beers on tap, enjoy hearty homestyle meals, and experience great live music.

Music & Events

Downtown St. John’s is known for its booming music scene and its abundance of great food. The Newfoundland Embassy has the best of both worlds. We’re one of the best spots to eat and drink!

What the Critics Say

Our customers love our food and atmosphere. Don't take our word for it - read our reviews on TripAdvisor, or leave one yourself.

The food is absolutely incredible, each menu item is fantastic and the options are fabulous. The drinks are always cold, custard cones are top-notch –combine them and the Murphys float is TOP of the line.

[Whether it’s] my first visit of the week or my eighth, The Newfoundland Embassy is my favourite place to be.

Brendan and Niall, the owners, are the most kind, welcoming, wonderful people in town; and they have a staff to complement this. Regardless of where you come from, you’ll be greeted and treated with the wholesome Newfoundland hospitality we are all so proud of.

Food is amazing! 22 draft beers to choose from (something for everyone) great cocktails, (ones you won’t find anywhere else, some that are made from homemade strawberry syrup that you can smell simmering on the stove as you walk in), as well as amazing staff, and fantastic owners. Hands down, best place in town.
