Jay was born in Aberdeen Scotland, spent his younger teenage years in Adelaide South Australia, and finally graduated in St. John’s NL, where he now lives permanently. Cutting his teeth in the downtown music scene, Jay soon found his home on the stage.

After taking a five year break from the scene, Jay is now back and more driven than ever before. Previously in such projects as Twerp, Silly Talent, and performing as a solo act titled Ashwood Gardens, Jay has now expanded his solo work into a collaborative version of the previously mentioned Ashwood Gardens, with the stand out achievement being the “Kitchen Party” the band hosts every Sunday, encouraging local musicians to join the stage and take part in the lovingly crafted event.

Whether performing as part of “The Garden” or solo with his loop pedal, Jay brings a fun and engaging experience to every show. From original heartfelt music, to covers of some of your favourite songs, there’s something for everyone.
