Randy Matthews is a crowd favourite at the Newfoundland Embassy and his versatility in moving from country tunes to rocking out the house makes his show a must see at the Pub!
Randy was born and raised in the culturally rich town of Port aux Basques, Newfoundland. He began writing music at 15 years old and recorded two albums as a teenager. He has a strong fanbase in Newfoundland through live shows and online performances. Randy cites Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Chris Stapleton as his major influences, and he considers Newfoundland traditional icon Roy Payne as his biggest local influence.
He has performed at well-known venues on the island and is releasing a new album in 2022. Randy is planning provincial, national, and international shows as part of his album promotion. Randy released, “Don’t Give a Damn” in late December of 2021 and “Driving Me Crazy” just made its way to all listening platforms in early February of 2022. Keep an eye out for the release of “Silhouettes” and many more as the year unfolds. Randy’s album is expected to be made available for purchase by mid-March 2022.
